Wall of Intramuros, This is a historic walled area within the modern city of Manila, the Philippine capital. The term Intramuros applies to the fortified town established by the Spanish conqueror Miguel Lopez de Legazpi at the mouth of the Pasig River shortly after 1571. The ramparts were built in 1521. During an earthquake it was destroyed, and was never rebuilt

Building the Walls of Intramuros was supposed to be the political and military foundation of the Spaniard in Asia.Large governmental structures, as well as theological and educational institutions, flourished throughout Intramuros, where only the most influential families of the country (mostly of Spanish descent) could live

IMPACT TO THE CITIZEN/COUNTRY/WORLD

It is known for it's defense structures and protecting the citizens within the walls. Because of that, the people appreciated the arrangement of the defense structures, such as the bulwarks, ravelins, and redoubts are strategically located along the massive walls of Intramuros following the design of medieval fortifications.

IMPACT OR CONTRIBUTION TO HUMAN RELATIONSHIPS

The Walled City had major damage with some of the buildings destroyed, the people proceeded to rebuild the fallen walls as a way to show their respect to the original builders and paying their condolences of the walls protecting them, especially from the invaders outside the country that are creating massive destruction to the area, from dangers that have come their way.

"GOOD FENCES MAKE GREAT NEIGHBORS"

The people would pay each other their respect, inside or outside the wall, and stay on good terms. Maintaining a good fence, like the Intramuros Walls, means that the citizens living inside the walls are all respectful to one another, just like the big neighbors they are.

RELEVANCE TO THE MENDING WALL

Living outside the Intramuros Walls would be very different, making them realize that they're keeping apart, including people living within the wall. They would know, though, that a wall was just covering themselves, and instead having a good barrier, they would become great neighbors, because being in good contact with each other is demonstrating mutual respect.
